Nick Cole

Nick has delivered results in challenging, highly regulated UK and international roles within the aviation sector, including 5 years at Heathrow Airport and 6 years international experience. 

He successfully led and motivated the operations team at Heathrow’s Terminal 5, post the challenging opening in September 2008 which culminated in Heathrow Terminal 5 winning the ‘World’s Best Airport Terminal’ award. Nick selected and developed a team to drive the strategy, plan and deliver the Heathrow 2012 Olympic Games Programme, during which time Heathrow achieved record customer service scores. 

Nick is passionate about his people and mentored a team accountable for current and new build terminals operations at Muscat and Salalah airports, Oman.  He led a multinational team to achieve the second best terminal in the Middle East at Riyadh Airport, Saudi Arabia. Currently CEO of daa International, which recently succeeded in being appointed as airport operator for Red Sea Global and awarded the largest airport management contract in the world with JEDCO at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Saudi Arabia.  

Nick was selected to become an International Olympic Committee advisor on airport capacity for sporting events, including Rio 2016 Games, Doha 2022 World Cup and PyeongChang 2018 Games.  

Basil Geoghegan

Chairman, daa Group

Basil is a Partner of PJT Partners, a US based publicly listed advisory investment bank, where he leads its business in the UK and Ireland. Prior to PJT Partners, he was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup in London and New York.

He has broad M&A, corporate finance and strategy advisory experience, in the US, UK, Ireland and internationally.  He also has an extensive record in complex M&A, public takeovers and anti-raid situations, including healthcare, financial services, TMT and transport. Basil is a non-executive director of AIB Group plc and is patron of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain.

Basil is a Scholar of, and holds an LLB, from Trinity College, Dublin and an LLM from European University Institute and qualified as a solicitor with Slaughter and May. Appointed daa Chairman in June 2018, Basil has been a member of the daa Board Nomination & Remuneration Committee and the Board Strategic Infrastructure & Sustainability Committee since his appointment to the Board. In March 2020 Basil was appointed to the Board Finance Committee.
